Modern en natuurlijk wonen: de buitenruimte van Charis

Modern and natural living: the outdoor space of Charis

In a spacious semi-detached house from the 1980s, Charis and her family have completed an inspiring transformation. Within just eight weeks, both the interior and the L-shaped garden underwent a full makeover. The result: a modern and natural home where tranquility, functionality, and comfort take center stage. A place where the day begins with bare feet on the grass and ends in a comfortable lounge set under the covered patio.

From Garden Wish to Thoughtful Design

The spacious garden was immediately the home’s greatest asset. Charis recognized its potential as a green, functional outdoor space. In collaboration with a landscape designer, a well-balanced garden layout was created, featuring multiple zones: lush borders, a sustainable lighting plan, and a smart layout offering space for both relaxation and play. Every element ties seamlessly into a natural lifestyle with an eye for detail.

Outdoor Living for the Whole Family

When designing the garden, the needs of every family member were taken into account. The outdoor space features multiple seating areas, a stylish outdoor kitchen, and a child-friendly play zone. From picnicking on a blanket to growing your own strawberries, the garden invites connection, play, and relaxation. Outdoor living naturally becomes part of everyday family life.

Organic Shapes and Natural Materials

The style Charis chose for the garden is a blend of modern, organic, and timeless elements. Curved lines create a seamless connection between the interior and the outdoor space, with a consistent color palette and materials like bamboo. The warm wood of the outdoor kitchen perfectly complements the interior design, while the sand-colored Sol outdoor sofa adds calm and cohesion.

The Ideal Outdoor Sofa: Model Sol

The previous lounge sofa was ready for an upgrade. Due to the sloped roofline of the covered patio, Charis looked for a modular outdoor sofa that would allow for flexibility in layout. She chose Lounge Set B of the Sol outdoor sofa—a model that met all her needs. The matching hocker is a versatile addition: it serves as a footrest, coffee table, or extra seat.

Natural Living Starts in the Garden

Charis dreams of one day living on a farm with a vegetable garden and chickens, but her current garden already comes surprisingly close. The children learn about nature and growth through play and experience the joy of outdoor living. With thoughtful choices in materials, layout, and the right outdoor furniture, this garden is a beautiful example of modern and natural living.
