Our sofas are composed of a wooden carcass, with metal nosag under-springs. On sofas with fixed seat, the seat has bonell inner springing on top of the nosag springing, with a layer of HR cold foam on top. This is a high-quality filling that softens in use. The Odin sofa uses HR cold foam with a top layer of memory foam. The seat molds to your body. When you stand up, the memory foam slowly returns to its original shape. Depending on the type of upholstery, body weight and intensity of use, the cushioning and springs decrease in stiffness by 10% in the initial phase, eventually remaining constant at 85% of new value.

Avoid direct sunlight
Every covering discolours over time under the influence of sunlight to a greater or lesser extent. It is best to avoid direct sunlight on furniture as much as possible.

Vacuum the furniture once a week
Dust particles get into everything, including furniture! Dust is hard to see on furniture, which is why many people put off maintenance. We recommend vacuuming once a week from the moment of purchase. Use a nozzle with a soft brush for this purpose only. Make sure the nozzle does not have any protrusions, which could damage the fabric.

Fabric upholstery
Gently stroke the upholstery. For fabrics with a nap, always vacuum with the nap. This way, you also remove dust particles such as sand that cause wear and tear over time.

When a sofa consists of several parts, it is linked by means of a metal connector. If you want to detach the parts from each other, you have to lift the bench part with the metal clip, which makes it click loose from the connector. The metal connectors that are under the other bench part can be turned back under the element.

If you want to connect the elements together, place the connectors right in front of the metal clips and press the two bench parts together. You will hear a click sound, the elements will pull together.

Each type of fabric is different, but mostly made of polyester yarn and have a certain elasticity. In use, a fabric will crease. This is nothing to worry about, it adds charm to the furniture. Every fabric has stretch in it, with some fabric having more stretch than others. The degree of crease formation depends on the stretch in the fabric (the more stretch, the more crease folding), the type of seating (e.g. permanently upholstered, or cover-upholstered), the width of the seat/back area (the wider, the earlier crease formation) and the receding of the stiffness of the padding.

The colourfastness of a fabric is determined using tests on a scale of 1 to 8, where 1 stands for strong discolouration and 8 for no discolouration.

Three lightfastness classes are distinguished:
4 = adequate
5 = good
6 = very good

Every fabric will discolour over time, sunlight accelerates the process. With dark colours this is more visible than with light colours. Synthetic fibres show less discolouration than natural fibres. Therefore, never place the sofa in direct sunlight to avoid discolouration.

Pilling of fabric is caused by loose fibres becoming felted due to a twisting motion. The degree of pilling depends on the weave, fibre length, fibre type and intensity of use. Fabrics with wool may pill earlier than other fabrics. It is a phenomenon that disappears over time. With a lint comb, or electric pill tool, the fibres can be removed well. If a loop is broken, never pull it out, but work it towards the back of the fabric.

The degree of pilling is indicated for each sofa. The rating scale runs from 5-1:
5 = no pilling
1 = very high pilling

Martindale is a term used to describe the durability of a furniture fabric. For a piece of furniture in a normal household, it is recommended to stick to at least 15,000 for normal use and at least 25,000 for heavy use.

Due to body heat, weight and moisture, a fabric can flatten. This is particularly common with chenille, ribbed or velour fabrics. The fibres of these types of fabrics stand up straight and create a soft appearance. In use, the fibres flatten out and a seat mirror is created, creating an optical colour difference.

By regularly rubbing in the direction of the pile with a soft hoover mouth or a soft brush, the fibres will largely return to their original direction and the optical colour difference will largely disappear. The appearance of a seat mirror is a characteristic of chenille and velour-like fabrics and not a reason for complaint.

Each seat on the sofa has a maximum weight capacity of 100 kg. This means the maximum weight per person, per seat, is 100 kg. Please keep this in mind to enjoy your sofa for as long as possible.

It is not possible to order the sofa in a different fabric or size than the models and corresponding sizes we have described on our website. We have deliberately chosen not to offer custom-made products within our concept. The sofas are only made once you order them; we do not work with a stock. By keeping the production process simple, we can produce quickly at competitive prices.

It is possible to order loose fabric from us, this cannot be done via our website but only by mail. The fabric can be ordered per running metre and the cost is €25 per running metre excluding shipping costs. The width of the fabric is approximately 140cm. It is not possible to return loose fabric.

The loose fabric is not Protexx treated and we cannot offer the fabric with treatment.

No, it is not possible to order other feet under the sofa. If necessary, you can replace the legs yourself for a higher or lower version. Various feet are available on the site meubelpootjes.nl, for instance.

Higher or lower legs do affect the seating comfort. The combination of seat height and seat depth in centimetres together determines the comfort. If the leg height becomes much higher or lower, the ratio is gone.

Our models are tightly upholstered, making it impossible to remove the upholstery. The fabric is pre-treated with a dirt-repellent impregnation, protecting it from the most common stains.

Recycling is often used as a general term for reusing materials or raw materials. If the value of the end product remains more or less the same, it is recycling. Upcycling is a form of recycling where a low-value material is made into something high-value. When a material or raw material can be reused endlessly, we call it circularity. Circularity is the highest form of recycling. Time after time, materials can be recycled at the same high-quality level. With circularity, the circle remains closed; there is no waste.

The upholstery not only provides the look and feel, but also a piece of furniture that will remain beautiful over the years. In use, space will be created in the fabric which may cause slight creasing, this is normal.

What is formaldehyde? Formaldehyde is a colourless gas with a pungent odour. Formaldehyde is found in chipboard, MDF, plywood and plywood, among others. When temperatures and humidity are high, more gas is released. Formaldehyde can be released from products and into the air. It can then be harmful to your health if you inhale it. If there is not enough ventilation in the home, formaldehyde remains lower in the home.

Using board material without formaldehyde is better for people and the environment. The board material used in Liv is glued with an organic glue and contains 0% formaldehyde.

What is harmolan? Fabric Vide is made from 100% harmolan. Harmolan is a residual polymer stretched into yarns. Harmolan can be recycled up to 10 times. With an average life cycle of 100 years, it is the most sustainable fibre made by human.

No water is required to produce harmolan fibres. In addition, the fabrics do not absorb water and are dirt-repellent and quick-drying, making them easy to clean.
