Binnenkijken in het Japandi interieur van Marly

Looking inside Marly's Japandi interior

Today, we meet Marly, who lives in Enschede with her husband and two children. Japandi living style combined with her creativity creates an Instagram account that is a source of inspiration for interior lovers.

From conversion to Japandi dream home

They bought a 2009 house that was basically fine, but could use an update. The ground floor was rearranged: the kitchen replaced the living room and vice versa. A PVC herringbone floor was laid and a kitchen island was added, two of Marly's long-cherished wishes. With these modifications, plus new furniture and accessories, the Japandi dream home turned out exactly as hoped.

‘My passion for interior design comes from home and grew into an Instagram account full of inspiration.’

Living style

Marly seamlessly blends Japanese and Scandinavian elements in her home style. The basis is simple and minimalist, with light, neutral colours for a calm atmosphere. Wood is used extensively in this Japandi interior, which contributes to the warm atmosphere that is characteristic of this style. The combination makes for a harmonious whole.

Element sofa Finn

A while ago, Marly discovered By SIDDE on Instagram. Element bench Finn was love at first sight - it had to be part of her Japandi interior. ‘For someone who likes to keep updating their interiors, a modular sofa is the perfect choice. The versatile arrangements offer many possibilities and create enough space for the whole family.’

‘I like that I can easily adapt the element bench to my changing interior design needs’

Interior tip from Marly

When in doubt about the layout of your Japandi style living room or finding the perfect arrangement for your element sofa, it can be useful to draw a floor plan of the room. Cut out images of furniture and experiment with different layouts. On By SIDDE's website, there is also a configurator where you can visualise combinations and view the dimensions. This will give you a good sense of proportions in the room.
